Brian Urlacher Retires After 13 Years In The NFL

Bitter sweet day today in Chicago, the mid-way linebacker Brian Urlacher has called it an NFL career Wednesday after 13 NFL seasons. Brian Urlacher was sure that he wanted to play and could continue to do so at a high level. Even saying so whenever he was asked about retiring. While most people would agree with that statement Urlacher decided to hang up the cleats. What many people believe to be the ultimate deciding factor in this decision is the fact that Brian Urlacher is a Chicago Bear and honestly no one really thinks that Urlacher even wanted to play anywhere else in another uniform.  Read more...

Chargers Sign Dwight Freeney to 2 year deal

The Chargers have signed former Indianapolis Colt Dwight Freeney. This comes after the Chargers lost starter Melvin Ingram due to an ACL tear. Dwight will bring leadership and experience to a relatively young defense. Freeney should be a starter from day one considering all that he has done and his great pass rushing skills. Paintball Explosion’s Nuketown field

Paintball Explosion in Illinois has created a replica of everyone’s favorite (or most hated) map. Nuketown. The field is brand new and is not even officially up on their site yet. Necro was at the opening to capture the awesomeness. The video shows how  no detail was spared. The replica is so precise, they’ve even included the mannequins. Check out their site and some of their other fields, including a World at War, Biohazard, pirates, and an upcoming zombie field. Hopefully something with these kind of fields opens up on the west coast soon.

Ravens To Add To Offense!

With the Baltimore Ravens offense taking such a huge hit, losing number one wide receiver Anquan Boldin in a trade with Superbowl opponent San Francisco 49ers, the team thinks its time to make up for it’s huge loss. The Superbowl champions are looking to add to their already stellar offensive attack by adding in a new formation. The Ravens will now run the “Pistol” formation seen normally only in college football. This new formation will get the ball in the hands of some of the Ravens top playmakers. Melvin Ingram tears ACL

Terrible news for Charger Fans. Melvin Ingram the first round pick of last years draft has torn his ACL. Melvin Ingram was suppose to take over for Shaun Phillips as the main pass rusher. Ingram was set to start for the first time in his short career. Without Melvin Ingram the Chargers are left with Larry English to fill that role. Larry English is a bust. Gran Turismo 6 Announcement Trailer

Gran Turismo mastermind, Kazunori Yamauchi, has officially announced Gran Turismo 6 for the PlayStation 3 at the UK’s Silverstone circuit event today.

Sony promised that the new title will bring new levels of authenticity to the scrupulously authentic racer. New cars and tracks are promised as well as a new interface and a compact engine that will “improve operation and increase the flexibility to expand it with downloadable content“. The announcement also promises greater integration with smartphones and tablets as well as improved social and community features.  Read more...

Ronde Barber to Retire

Ronde Barber has stated that he is retiring from the NFL. Barber was able to play for 16 seasons. During his tenure he was a number one corner. Barber had a twin brother play in the league that many will remember, Tiki Barber. Both brothers will now be retired. Ronde Barber only played in one game his rookie season, he however did not miss any games after that.  Read more...

Antonio Gates makes the top 100 list

Antonio Gates has made the top 100 list of 2013. He was ranked at number 73. Gates was able to get ahead of Dennis Pitta, Heath Miller, and Aaron Hernandez. In 2013 the chargers did not send any players to the pro bowl. So far Gates has been the only charger player to be on the list this year. Some possible candidates to make the list are Eric Weddle and Donald Butler. Malcolm Floyd could sneak into the list.  Read more...

EA Sports and FIFA extent their licensing untill 2022

EA SPORTS and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) have announced an extension of their existing licensing agreement until December 31, 2022.

Under the terms of the agreement, EA SPORTS maintains exclusive rights to release FIFA-branded action and management videogames. In addition, EA SPORTS also holds exclusive rights to release the official FIFA World Cup videogame, as well as retaining its status as a Presenting Partner of the FIFA Interactive World Cup.  Read more...

The San Diego chargers have changed coaches, and general manager in this last year. They have added a veteran corner and have added an electric running back in Danny Woodhead. The chargers have added great prices to the team in this years draft with linebacker Man’ti Teo and wide receiver Keenan Allen. They have also let go of players that were holding the team back like Antoine Cason and Quentin Jammer. They have however lost a couple of key players such as Shaun Phillips.  Read more...

Terrell Owens is back in the media once again ladies and gentlemen. Not only has the legendary future hall of famer made a plea to join the Chicago Bears but he has also made it known that it would be a “No brainer” that he would be able to perform well in New England after an LA workout with Tom Brady and other Patriots receivers. T.O. says that the workout was just happenstance and he and Brady just happened to be at the same spot working out at the same time.

Nate Kaeding Retiring

Nate Kaeding  has announced that he will retire from the NFL. Kaeding spent most of his nine year career with the San Diego Chargers. Most recently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had signed Nate, but due to a nagging groin injury Kaeding decided to hang up his cleats. Kaeding was one of the leagues most accurate kickers in the regular season, however in the playoffs he was a mess.  Read more...

This is a wrestler that everyone loved to work with ever since he started out in 1992. X-pac was always a top notch performer in the ring. Who also had epic feuds against some of wrestling’s greatest. From Scott Hall to Shawn Michaels. Kane to Undertaker, X-pac has wrestled them all but why hasn’t he ever been to the top of the food chain in wrestling.

CHARGERS TAKE MANTI TE’O

The San Diego Chargers have traded with the Arizona Cardinals in order to move up and select Manti Te’o. Manti slipped out of the first round and fell past a couple of teams. The chargers pounced and took Manti Te’o. This is incredible news and exciting news for San Diego. I don’t think many expected for the Chargers to reach and take Te’o. Packers have signed QB Aaron Rodgers to a contract extension

Great news in Green Bay! Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has re-signed with the Packers today. The terms of the deal were made public but you can bet your bottom dollar that this will be a deal that ensures Aaron Rodgers will retire a Green Bay Packer. It will interesting to see later on what the terms of this deal was and how it’s gonna cost to keep one of the leagues top tier quarterbacks. With Joe Flacco and Tony Romo receiving the deals that they got, I wouldn’t be surprised if Aaron Rodgers contract is worth more than both of them. The first day of the draft is finally over. There were a couple of surprises that occurred with some trades, as well as some surprise picks. There was a surprise first overall choice. There were 6 offensive linemen taken in the first 11 picks. No running backs were taken in the first round. Geno Smith and Manti Teo were not picked in the first round. The Vikings had three first round picks. There were a lot of questionable calls but it is over and done with.  Read more...

The Winner Of The Madden Cover Is….Barry Sanders!

The votes are in and the winner for the Madden 25 cover is Barry Sanders! Arguably the greatest NFL running back of all time! Barry Sanders has eclipsed over the 15 thousand yard mark with and exact total of 15,269 yards and this was done in just 10 years of playing for the Detroit Lions in the NFL. Barry Sanders could have easily out ran Emmitt Smith for the all time rushing title. It took Emmitt Smith who also a another great running back over 15 years to gain 18,355 yards averaging 4.2 yards a carry. Barry Sanders averaged 5.0 yards a carry and left the game early but on his own terms. If he would have played 3 more seasons he would have shattered Emmitt Smith’s record. Barry Sanders now a Hall Of Famer in the National Football League and will now forever be on the cover of everyone’s favorite football game EA Sports Madden 25 bringing some old school to the new school.  Read more...

Kam Chancellor Signs 4 Year Extension

The New York Jets fans might be at home throwing their furniture around the house and terrorizing their own homes but the fans in Seattle are going out to dinner and celebrate the contract extension of Seahawks hardest hitter, Kam Chancellor. The NFL schedule has been announced for the whole league. The Chargers have been one of the lucky teams in terms of difficulty. Last year season the chargers went 7-9 which is terrible. This year however the chargers have a realistic chance of winning enough games to get into the playoffs. The chargers still play the Raiders twice, and the chiefs twice. DARRELLE REVIS AGREES TO TERMS WITH BUCCANEERS

The NFL’s top corner is moving on! Darrelle Revis has agreed to terms of a trade from the New York Jets to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The only thing left for Revis to do before this deal can be 100% done is undergo a physical. Darrelle Revis was able to run without any restrictions at all last week and is showing great signs of recovery from his season ending injury last year. Former teammate Antonio Cromartie not happy about this trade at all saying that this deal “sucks”.
