Tom Brady aka “Football God” does it again

tom brady

The Patriots faced the Saints in Foxboro in what was an epic match up with Tom Brady and Drew Brees. Many believed that the 5-0 Saints would win this matchup because Brady was not “Brady” anymore. Many thought that without a legitimate receiver Brady was nothing. All those people forgot why Brady is the Golden Boy. Theres one rule in Football, “Never Bet against Tom Brady”. Some people still don’t get it. Early in the game the Patriots dominated and were up by 10 at the half. Brady however was still without a touchdown pass. The Saints eventually were able to tie the game up and gain a lead, thanks in part to a pretty good Quarterback named Drew Brees.

Monday Rant: Love Hate Relationship with Fantasy Football

Like so many other people this time of year I have decided to do a fantasy football league with my roommates as well as some other friends and even though week 1 isn’t finished yet I am already remembering why I have a love hate relationship with fantasy sports. Now let me start off by saying I am no means a football strategist or annalist, in fact outside of Madden I have never even played a game of football as I grew doing martial arts and baseball. So my team is probably not the best it could be, however I do feel that I have a fairly decent team outside of the guy who has Payton Manning, or my roommate who has A.J. Green, A.P. and Reggie Bush. As I was flipping through the various games on Sunday trying to keep track of all of my players and my Black and Silver (Raider Nation) I realized that I am probably going to be a dick this season.

Bad News for Seahawks!!!!!!!!!!

The Seattle Seahawks are have a bad turn of events with Percy Harvin injuring his hip, and landing on the PUP list. The PUP LIST IS THE Physically unable to preform list. Harvin suffered a tear in his hip. This is terrible news for the Seahawks considering the price they paid for Harvin. They traded away their first round pick in this past draft to acquire the wide receiver from the Vikings. The Seahawks were already a top team without Harvin, but Harvin was suppose to put them over the top. With the rule changes, Seattle can bring Harvin back by the middle of the season.

Top 5 Free Agents Still in the Market

NFL: NFC Divisional Round-Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons

The football season is almost ready to get under way. The mandatory training camps have started. The next step will be preseason, and then it will be time for the regular season. Before all of that happens there will be some interesting signings for people who are still free agents. These following players each have a chance to make a team before the season starts.

1. John Abraham- This former falcon showed that he is still an elite pass rusher, he should have already been signed, the team that picks him up is going to be very happy with his level of play

Broncos release release Willis McGahee

Willis McGahee

The broncos have released their leading back of a season ago Willis McGahee. This is very surprising considering that the Broncos are looking to bank on their new rookie running back Montee Ball. Without Willis, the broncos still have Moreno and Hillman as possible back ups. McGahee looked to get his career back on track, and he was looking pretty good last season before he was injured. McGahee will be a solid backup to any team, and could even be a starter for a team in need of a running back like the Cardinals.

Colts sign Ahmad Bradshaw to one year deal

The colts have signed the best free agent left. Ahmad Bradshaw will be on an NFL roster this year, and it will be with the Indianapolis Colts. This is a great signing that makes a lot of sense. The Colts running backs were talented but there was not a true number one running back there. Bradshaw is a number one running back. He is also only 26 years old, but has a lot of experience. Its hard to think that Bradshaw could improve a team that went 11-5, but that is exactly what he can do.

Denver Broncos have 4 previous Chargers on the team

This off season the Denver Broncos have gone on a shopping spree for ex charger players. There are currently 4 ex charger players on the team. It seems like the Broncos have to just try to rub it in the chargers face. The first ex charger to be singed by them was during the season, Jacob Hester. Hester was a fan favorite but unfortunately was let go. The next charger player to leave that probably stung the most was Louis Vasquez. He was the best offensive linemen of the Chargers and the broncos took him away by offering more money.

Top 5 Free Agent Add ons for Chargers

danny woodhead

The Chargers added a couple of key players this offseason to strengthen their relatively weak offensive roster. The left tackle position was the biggest need that the chargers had and they managed to find someone for the job. The offensive line has received a huge improvement with Fluker coming in the draft and Starks in free agency. There have been other key players added to the team this offseason by free agency, here are the top 5.

Chargers Sign Dwight Freeney to 2 year deal

The Chargers have signed former Indianapolis Colt Dwight Freeney. This comes after the Chargers lost starter Melvin Ingram due to an ACL tear. Dwight will bring leadership and experience to a relatively young defense. Freeney should be a starter from day one considering all that he has done and his great pass rushing skills. Freeney’s contract is for the duration of 2 years.

Paintball Explosion’s Nuketown field

Paintball Explosion in Illinois has created a replica of everyone’s favorite (or most hated) map. Nuketown. The field is brand new and is not even officially up on their site yet. Necro was at the opening to capture the awesomeness. The video shows how  no detail was spared. The replica is so precise, they’ve even included the mannequins. Check out their site and some of their other fields, including a World at War, Biohazard, pirates, and an upcoming zombie field. Hopefully something with these kind of fields opens up on the west coast soon.

Melvin Ingram tears ACL

Terrible news for Charger Fans. Melvin Ingram the first round pick of last years draft has torn his ACL. Melvin Ingram was suppose to take over for Shaun Phillips as the main pass rusher. Ingram was set to start for the first time in his short career. Without Melvin Ingram the Chargers are left with Larry English to fill that role. Larry English is a bust. The Chargers are in trouble now.

Ronde Barber to Retire

Ronde Barber has stated that he is retiring from the NFL. Barber was able to play for 16 seasons. During his tenure he was a number one corner. Barber had a twin brother play in the league that many will remember, Tiki Barber. Both brothers will now be retired. Ronde Barber only played in one game his rookie season, he however did not miss any games after that.
