Celtics vs Heat Game 1 recap

The Miami Heat holds a 1-0 lead as they defeat the Boston Celtics 93-79 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. LeBron James led Miami with 32 points and 13 rebounds while Dwayne Wade added 22 points and seven assists. James and Wade continue to play at a high level, shooting 21 of 35 from the field. The Heat led and controlled since the beginning of the game and only lost the lead by a tie. The Celtics tied the game in the 2nd quarter outscoring the Heat by 10 points, having 35 points that quarter. Miami walked into the locker room thinking they had a two point lead but the refs took off a bucket after reviewing a lay-up that didn’t beat the shot clock.

The Celtics trailed by double digits most of the second half, struggling against the Heat’s tough defense, the Celtics had a low field goal percentage of only 39 percent. Kevin Garnett led his team with 23 points and 10 rebounds, going 9 of 16 from the field. Garnett didn’t receive any help from P. Pierce, R. Allen, and R. Rondo, which were 14 of 45 combined. The Celtics were also horrible from the free throw line only making 11 of their 21 attempts. If they want to have any chance of winning the next game they are going to need to shoot above 50 percent from the field, hit their free throws, and avoid those technical fouls, they were whistled for four, including Doc Rivers—Celtics coach.
