The Chargers have signed former Indianapolis Colt Dwight Freeney. This comes after the Chargers lost starter Melvin Ingram due to an ACL tear. Dwight will bring leadership and experience to a relatively young defense. Freeney should be a starter from day one considering all that he has done and his great pass rushing skills. Freeney’s contract is for the duration of 2 years.
The Chargers have not added a whole lot of free agents to the roster, however the ones that they have added are at great value. They signed Danny Woodhead, Derek Cox, and now Dwight Freeney. With the Denver Broncos picking up a whole lot of free agents, and the Chiefs picking up even more the Chargers have to stay competitive in the off season in order to have a shot at winning the AFC West.
