CW Will Introduce The Flash on ‘Arrow’ Season 2

Big news just popped up… in a Flash!  The CW network president Mark Pedowitz confirmed The Flash, aka Barry Allen, is being developed and will first be introduced on the second season of “Arrow”.

“We plan to introduce the recurring character of Barry Allen who is the Flash. We’re planning an origin story and we’ll see how it goes. We do want to expand on DC Universe, and we felt this is a very organic way to get there.”

Greg Berlanti, creator of “Arrow,” said Allen will arrive in episode 8 with no immediately visible powers. He will return in episodes 9 and 20. If all goes well, he could then segue into his own show.

As most of you are aware, the New 52 follows Barry Allen, Flashpoint Paradox , now available on Blu-ray and DVD, is about Barry Allen, and there are rumors going around about a Flash movie for 2016 which might be following him as well.

It’s still unclear if that will occur, but Flash’s introduction certainly would be interesting and raise questions about whether we’re meeting members of a potential Justice League movie cast on TV as well as film, as the Batman vs. Superman movie nears in 2015.

  1. I do like what they have done with Arrow on CW so I am curious to see what they do with Flash and I think they will do a great job. According to WB the Flash movie confirmation was false and that the confirmation was for the TV show not the movie. I still would like to see a Flash movie.

  2. I forgot to add this quote from an article on Forbes.

“The pilot episode for the Flash series will be directed by David Nutter, who directed the pilots for Arrow and Smallville, as well as episodes of the shows Game of Thrones, Homeland, The X-Files, Entourage, and The Adventures of Superboy. The program will air on the CW”

  3. “Man of Steel 2” will be released in 2015 -with a tentative plan for “Flash” and “Justice League” movies to follow in 2016 and 2017-, that was announced at SDCC’13. But yeah, there’s nothing solid yet :C

I really want to believe they’re gonna make The Flash movie soon :C .. and Ryan Gosling should play Barry Allen! just saying…

    Thanks for posting Ty!
