Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara is now available on Steam, PSN and XBLA (should be at least haven’t checked yet) for $14.99 and is WELL worth the money. I spent much more than that growing up just dropping quarter after quarter into the cabinet. The game comes with two games D&D: Tower of Doom and D&D: Shadow over Mystara by Capcom. They are highly addictive progressive action adventure rpg’s for those who love old school gaming. The play through video is for the Tower of Doom, so I hope you guys like it and make sure to keep an eye out for Part II soon to come.

The Fabletown castle is finally free for the citizens to move back into. None is more excited than young little Junebug, the daughter of Rodney and June, the former wooden creations turned former human spies for Geppetto during the height of his dark reign. With an inability to contain herself, she is given permission to explore the castle for a little bit while her parents unpack in peace. But what starts off as a great adventure for Junebug just may turn into a nightmare.

Review

Bill Willingham does more than just utilize the classic fairy tale characters that we know and spin them with a modern twist more wonderfully than any other. He also utilizes the classical form of storytelling, where it is more about teaching consequences than evoking merry dreams. This issue brings harkens back to the tale of a child wandering too far and getting into trouble. It is told wonderfully as Bill introduces us to a delightful spirit of little Junebug while still being able to pull rug right out from under readers when they least expect it. It’s mostly a nice little break from the primary story, and one that offers a few chuckles even in the supposedly dark moments like when the rats try to decide what to do with their kidnapped prey.

Illustrating this issue is Barry Kitson. Barry does a nice job capturing the spirit of little Junebug from start to finish. One can’t help but smile as she is seen running around from place to place, pretending to have caught trolls or reads from books she’s not supposed to. It’s the coloring job by Lee Loughridge that actually does an even better job at enhancing the story. It’s deceptively simple, without really putting a lot of depth and definition since it’s rather unnecessary. It’s how it starts out bright and then becomes dark as the book progresses, playing along with the mood of the venture that Junebug feels throughout.

Though this issue is merely filler, it nonetheless continues to display how magnificent of a storyteller Bill Willingham is. Utilizing both classic fairy tale archetypes and how they were originally told to present a nice little story that is pleasure to read. Backed by good and effective artwork from Barry Kitson and Lee Loughridge and this is easily one of the more delightful comic books to read this month. So of course it comes highly recommended.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld Nintendo’s victory in a patent-infringement case brought against Nintendo by IA Labs CA, LLC. The Court of Appeals agreed with the lower court that Nintendo did not infringe IA Labs’ patent (U.S. Patent No. 7,121,982), and it upheld the lower court’s ruling that IA Labs must pay Nintendo more than $236,000 in attorneys’ fees.

“We are very pleased with the court’s decision,” said Richard Medway, Nintendo of America’s deputy general counsel. “Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. We also vigorously defend patent lawsuits, like the IA Labs lawsuit, when we firmly believe that we have not infringed another party’s patent.”
