Let the Bodies hit the Floor: Killing Floor PC Review

Do you like killing Zombies? if your answer is YES!!! then grab a gun, load up on ammo and let’s go. Killing floor is all about killing Zombies plain and simple there is no story here,  there is no need for one , it’s just plain fun!!! Killing floor by Tripwire Interactive  originally started out as a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 and  became it’s own game. On the surface it may remind you of  Left4Dead but you will find out it is a little different. It offers a cool perk system to the mix which let’s you level up your character and become more effective at taking out Zombies by letting you level up in such skills as Field Medic or Sharpshooter, it offers seven different perks in all.

Killing Floor offers two modes of game play single player and co-op which supports up to 6 players. I found single player fun but very easy to get yourself  in a bad position and surrounded by Zombies, single player really makes you think fast though. In Co-op I found it a lot easier to survive since you can watch each others backs and  and really bring the firepower. As I said before the gameplay for Killing Floor is straight forward, you must survive wave after wave of attacking zombies. This progression is made a little easier with the help of the local Weapons Trader. Using the money you  earn from killing Zombies you are able purchase weapons and armour from the local trader but be quick you only have one minute to visit the trader between levels before the next wave of Zombies attacks, This game keeps you on you toes.

When I play Killing Floor I play it at 1920×1200 with the video settings set to the highest setting and it looks very cool, I feel it projects the Zombie Horror film look very well. The sounds of the game were pretty much standard horror movies sound effects which work well for the game. The games system requirements seem to be minimal(See Below)

If you like games like Left 4 Dead then I think you will enjoy Killing Floor, it’s a very fun and addicting game because killing Zombies never gets old. Tripwire also provides additional down-loadable content which adds different character models and new levels to the game to keep it fresh and fun. I found it to be quite  addicting and for $20 you can’t beat it.

I give it an 8 out of 10
