A new trailer for United Front Games’ upcoming title Sleeping Dogs has been released, showcasing some of the action in the game and some of the many possibilities. The game was originally announced in 2009 as True Crime: Hong Kong, to be the third installment to the series, but ended up being cancelled by Activision due to budget and delays in 2011. Square Enix then picked up the publishing rights to the game, but did not buy the True Crime name rights (hence the new name).
Sleeping Dogs is an open world game centered around crime drama where and you take control over undercover cop Wei Shen, who is assigned to infiltrate the Triad organization known as Sun On Yee. So far the game looks promising from the trailers released, hopefully Square Enix can pull this game off after picking it up when it was dropped. Sleeping Dogs is to be released on August 14th of this year in North America for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
