Our friends at Skullcandy sent over the next headset in their new line of entry headsets the PYLR 2. This is my first time really using Skull Candy’s headset I didn’t try the SYLRs before this review but I did get to try them during the review for comparison. Just like Abraham I own a pair of Astro A40s so I’m pretty keen on what great sounding headsets are supposes to sound like.  To my surprise the PLYR 2 was just on par with my Astros in sound quality.
Comfort and Design
The PLYR 2 is a bit bigger than the SYLR which is great, because they also increased the size of the ear cup which makes them more comfortable especially during long gaming sessions.
The PYLR 2 is made out entirely of plastic just like the SYLR but feels way sturdier and better. The mic is attached to the left ear cup, though not hidden like the SYLR which was pretty cool. But the mic is much larger and flexible so you can move it around if you like and it’s also far better quality.
Did I mention that they are wireless! Yes with all these features the PLYR 2 are wireless you plus a charger cable for a short period and off you go.
As I mentioned before the PLYR 2 sound quality is really good, at times i forgot I had them on and thought they were my Astros.
All the volume controls ( pictured above) are on the right ear cup, a knob is used to turn up or down the overall volume and pushing it left or right controls the in game and chat volumes.
Some of the titles I played were Halo 4, Borderlands 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, the Walking Dead and Black Ops 2.
Just like the SYLR Skullcandy keep thing plug and play, ridiculously simple. The cable (pictures above) is for consoles, just plug it in to your liking and you’re set.
And yes you can use it for the Xbox 360,PS3 and PC.
To charge the headsets you simply plug in the charge cable to the “base†and your all set. (base is pictured above)
The Skullcandy PLYR 2 are the best entry level wireless headsets I’ve ever tried amazing sound, comfortable and wireless. An added plus you can use them for multiple consoles and devices. ÂÂ
My only issue with the headset is I wish the battery lasted a bit more currently I’m getting 2-3 hours per charge. Turns out the USB port I was using is bad and was causing a weak charge now that i switched over to a properly working port im getting 14-16 hours per charge which is amazing!
