Scott M. Gimple to become showrunner of Walking Dead

gimpleandfriend

Scott M. Gimple will be taking over as the new showrunner of The Walking Dead. This essentially means that he is in-charge of developing the show going forward and oversees the creative direction. He is recognized for having written popular episodes such as last season’s “Pretty Much Dead Already” and this season’s “Hounded.”

Gimple is succeeding Glen Mazzara, who took the position midway through the second season after Frank Darabont left due to creative differences with executives at AMC.  Gimple’s promotion will take effect when production on the fourth season begins on May 6.
