It’s been a dramatic week for Marvel and Pokken Fans trying to secure a slot at Evo 2017. Each game had streams all over trying to promote and raise money for their loved game but in the end Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 takes the 9th slot at Evo 2017. Out of the total $150,000 donated for the Make-A-Wish foundation, Marvel Fans raised over $71,000 to keep their game at Evo. Not only was it a drama filled week for both Marvel and Pokken fans but it was also a week of surprise generosity. Long time competitor Justin Wong donated $2,000 dollars for UMvC3 and Competitive Pokken player ” Rokso” donated $4,000 dollars for Pokken. Even though over 700 more people donated for Marvel, Pokken was only $4,000 dollars short of making it.
Personally I thought Chris G winning Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 at Evo 2016 was a perfect and beautiful way to end the long running games presence at Evo due to all the emotion shown by the competitor, even going as far as breaking out into tears during Top 32 while versing Joey D. BUT hardcore Marvel fans see differently and Evo wouldn’t be the same to them if their game wasn’t present. I’m very excited for Evo 2017 and cant wait to see all the drama that’ll take place. Hope you enjoyed reading and Dont get Salty 😉 REMINDER: Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 comes out for Xbox One for 25$ including all DLC on 3/6/17!
