Great music and great games has always gone hand in hand, as some of the best games of all time also include amazing sound tracks. Games like chrono trigger (above) and mega man (below) have tracks that invoke your emotions. Great video game music has the ability to invoke an emotion that can further the depth of the game. A great example of this is in Final Fantasy VII when Aeris is killed would it be as emotional if there was no music, instead the music brings out your feelings for the character. I am not afraid to admit that I cried a little when she died not only because I lost my healer, but also because the music made the scene overwhelming. Whether it is something that matches the game play or the emotion mood the game is trying to achieve great music is an essential part of a great game.
