Hows it going everyone Patrick here with another review. Today im going to review the newest set Wing Raiders, thanks to my friend from Konami. Wing Raiders is a pretty cool set, it has a lot of good reprints, a ton of support for some older decks and a couple new arc types as well. Its a 60 card set with 27 commons, 12 rares, 10 super, 6 ultra, and 5 secret rare cards and it still follows Konami’s new approach of a holo in every pack. So lets talk about some of the cards in this set.
First off I want to talk about one of the best cards in this set Super Quantum Red Layer. Its a level 5 2000 atk monster with a pretty sweet effect. It says “If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can only use each of these effects of “Super Quantum Red Layer” once per turn.
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 “Super Quant” card in your Graveyard; add it to your hand.
If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 “Super Quant” monster in your Graveyard, except “Super Quantum Red Layer”; Special Summon it, but it cannot activate its effects”. For the new arc type Super Quantums, this is their main recycler for the deck and its an amazing card that can almost always have a play for you to make with every time it hits the field or graveyard. I hope that the Super Quantums get a ton of support later on, because I feel like the deck could be amazing if it could be a little bit faster. Now lets talk about an arc that got a ton of much needed support this time around and that’s Raidraptors.
Raidraptors have been around for a bit, but never really took off because they were lacking a lot of support and Wing Raiders had made this deck very playable now. The main card that made a big impact in this deck is Raidraptor – Force Strix. It’s a 500 atk 2000 def Xyz monster with a great effect that says, ” This card gains 500 ATK and DEF for each Winged Beast-Type monster you control (other than this card). Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; add 1 Level 4 DARK Winged Beast-Type monster from your Deck to your hand”. Just like Red Layer, Force Strix is a big searcher for the deck and can make plays happen to get those bigger Raidraptors out to torment your opponent. I can see this deck doing very well now in locals or big tournaments throughout this year.
Like I said before Wing Raiders is a great set it has a ton of support cards for older arc types and a bunch of stuff for the brand new arc as well. Also with this set it has a lot of great reprints like bottomless trap hole, ghostrick alucard, swallows nest, neddle bug nest, and even dark rebellion xyz dragon. If your trying to get your hands on some of he new cards or just trying to get some more staples for your current deck, then this set is for you. I highly recommend trying this set out. Its a smaller set so your bound to get cards you want very easily. I hoped you guys like this review and maybe it helped out a little. I have been planning to do yugioh reviews on video now so hopefully soon ill start posting that up to make these reviews more convenient for the duelist that would rather watch and listen instead of reading. Let me know what you guys think and once again thanks for reading and happy dueling.
